What are the basic quality inspection methods for stainless steel pressure gauges?

  To further confirm the operational performance of the stainless steel pressure gauge, some inspection work is still required after you’ve just acquired it. First, we need to verify the color markings applied to the case, gasket, or dial of the selected stainless steel pressure gauge and, according to established rules, identify the specific type indicated on the gauge’s surface, also noting the name of any special media involved.

  It is important to note that if the stainless steel pressure gauge is used for measuring gas pressure, a safety hole must be provided on the back of the gauge, and a dust-proof device should also be installed on the top. Currently, there are two common types of dust-proof devices: one involves sealing the safety hole from inside the gauge with thin paper, and the other uses a specialized rubber plug to cover the safety hole from outside the gauge.

  In addition, the dial on the exterior surface must be carefully inspected. For stainless steel pressure gauges, the paint finish of the pointer dial should be of excellent quality, with no peeling or flaking issues. Moreover, the graduation markings on the dial must be complete and clearly legible. Furthermore, the pointer should extend fully into all graduation lines; its width should not exceed one-fifth of the smallest graduation interval. The distance between the pointer and the plane of the dial should be within the range of 1–3 mm. For gauges with an outer diameter of 200 mm or greater, the distance between the pointer and the dial plane should be within the range of 2–4 mm.

  In addition, some stainless steel pressure gauges are equipped with stop pins. In such cases, the pointer on the dial must rest against the stop pin and press down on the lower-scale graduation line. However, if there is no lower stop pin, the pointer should remain within the width of the lower-scale graduation line.

  In addition, the case of the stainless steel pressure gauge should be securely fastened, ensuring that all screws meet the required specifications and that the sealing device is intact and bears the prescribed lead seal impression.
